Gloversville Enlarged School District Vision

The Gloversville Enlarged School District Board of Education approved the following vision statement at its July 23, 2013 meeting.

Our Vision:

Our schools will equip all students (in grades K-12) to succeed at the highest levels, while building strong support for the collective belief that high school graduation is a key to lifelong success and personal achievement.

We will accomplish this by:

1. Seeking greater community and regional collaboration to maintain rich program offerings and more effective student services, while minimizing the burden on local taxpayers

2. Elevating student outcomes and improving graduation rates by demanding and nurturing greater leadership, quality teaching and personalized student support

3. Maintaining a wide array of strong education programs that integrate technology and enhance community participation at every school

Smart Schools Bond Act Investment Plan

New York’s Smart Schools Bond Act was approved by voters in November 2014. The $2 billion bond act is intended to provide school districts with funding for new educational technology and infrastructure improvements to enhance learning opportunities for all students across the state.

According to the New York Smart Schools Commission Report, released in October 2014, the bond act’s primary focus is to meet the demand for expanded online learning and help even the technological playing field by leveraging technology resources for 21st-century students and teachers. Like its name implies, the Smart Schools Bond Act requires schools to make strategic decisions regarding upgrades.
