Planning for next year to get underway
Planning for the 2017-2018 school year will begin when students return from the holiday break. The 2017-2018 Program of Studies is available to help planning for the upcoming school year. Please take a look at the courses being offered. When you meet with your counselor, they will be able to answer any questions for you. Scheduling will begin the second week of January and will go through the second week of February. Counselors will let you know when they will be be meeting with your grade.
New resource to help students plan for life after high school
The GESD is now using NAVIANCE, a comprehensive website that you can use to plan for life after high school (college, career, etc.). Students can NAVIANCE to research colleges and careers, create plans for the future, build resumes and much more.
The Career & Counseling Center
The Career and Counseling Center assists students and parents each school year with course selection, career interest inventories, computer-assisted career and college counseling, college admissions & post-high school planning, advisement, job search information, financial aid and scholarship information.
The Career and Counseling Center services include the following: personal counseling for a wide range of issues facing teens, vocational counseling, group counseling, career counseling, college counseling, and academic counseling.
Counselors can be contacted by clicking on their names at the right to send an email or by calling the Counseling Center at 775-5710 and dialing the appropriate extension.
