GMS students earn Eagle Awards

Gloversville Middle School Principal Mark Batty has announced the names of 16 sixth, seventh and eighth graders who earned the school’s Eagle Award for the first quarter of the 2016-17 school year.

The award winners were sixth graders Elizabeth Campione, Sarah Dworman, Kwayde Ferguson, Quntavious Hornsby and Matthew Miller, seventh graders Jack Bruce, Davin Melita, Lyndsey Price, Sydney Romaine, Dennis Waight and Arianna Wilder and eighth graders Carlos Gorman, Richard Gritzback, Carlos Matos, Isabella Schumaker and Joslynn Wrobel.

Students are nominated for Eagle Awards by teachers based on their total performance in school.

Eagle honorees were each given a plaque, a gift certificate for a free meal donated by Applebee’s and treated to a breakfast with parents and teachers in attendance during a ceremony Thursday, Dec. 8 in the school cafeteria.
