Young Women Breaking Boundaries

Several girls from Gloversville attend Women Breaking Boundaries

A group of Gloversville middle and high school students represented the district at the Elizabeth Cady Stanton Women's Consortium, which presented the 2017 Woman's Symposium — "Women Breaking Boundaries" on Saturday, March 18, at HFM BOCES.

The day was divided into several educational activities with themes centered on “Women’s Public Progress, Body, Mind and Soul” and the “Power and Spirit and Women.” GESD students who attended included sophomore Autumn Hardman and middle-schoolers Emerald Van Avery, Kiana Ketchum, Symone Canty, Monica Ostrander and Maryum Nazir. Teachers Marcia Gillis and Danielle Lambert, as well as teaching assistant Diedre Pinkerton, accompanied the students.

This event is planned again for next year, and organizers said they hope to see more students come out for this fun and valuable experience.
