911 call initiates Park Terrace lockdown

At approximately 10:05 a.m. Thursday, June 20, the Gloversville Police Department initiated lockdown procedures at Park Terrace Elementary School after a phone call was placed to 911 from a classroom in the building.

Law enforcement immediately responded and began securing the building. At approximately 11:20 a.m., after each classroom was cleared per lockdown protocols, the lockdown was lifted.

School administration and law enforcement are confident that it was a prank phone call from an empty classroom, and that all students and staff in the building are safe.

Further information on the incident will be provided as it becomes available.
