The Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020

Dear Gloversville Enlarged School District families;

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020 authorized the payment of P-EBT food benefits to households with children who would have received free school lunches under the National School Lunch Act, if not for the closure of school between March and June 2020  These temporary food benefit cards are intended to help cover the cost of meals children would  have received at school between March and June 2020 These cards have already been sent or are currently in the process of being sent to every child in the Gloversville School district.  The amount on each card is $420.00 and are to be used strictly for purchasing groceries.  Every GESD student will receive a card our district is a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) school.  This means that regardless of parental income, all children attending our district received free or reduced-price school lunches. If you have already received a letter from the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance notifying you that P-EBT food benefits have been issued to your household and you have questions, you may call the P-EBT Food Benefits Helpline at 1-833-452-0096.   If you accidentally discarded the card, please call that number as well.

Thank you
Superintendent David Halloran
