covid19

January 29, 2021

Dear Gloversville School Community:

I hope everyone is warm and healthy and hope that all of our students had a fruitful week
working remotely from home.  Next week all schools in the district, except for Boulevard
Elementary School, are set to return to our hybrid model with Dragons reporting on Monday,
February 1, 2021.  Unfortunately, Boulevard had a positive case this week that resulted in twenty
staff members needing to quarantine through February 5, 2021.  With so many staff required to
quarantine, we are unable to safely reopen that building.  We apologize for this inconvenience
and plan to reopen Boulevard on Monday, February 8, 2021.

If there are further developments related to COVID-19 over the weekend, we will reassess and
reach out again if necessary.  So, to be clear, at this time we are reopening all schools, except
Boulevard, on Monday, February 1, 2021.  Boulevard will reopen on Monday, February 8,
2021.

I would like to thank everyone for their continued patience, flexibility and understanding as we
continue to navigate this pandemic.  It has certainly been a challenge.  Infection rates across the
country are declining and we should soon see that reflected in our region as well.
Please reach out to your building principal with any questions or concerns regarding this
message.  I hope you all stay healthy and have a nice weekend.

Sincerely,

David Halloran
Superintendent of Schools
