The Gloversville Enlarged School District is accepting applications for its full-day pre-kindergarten program for the 2019-20 school year.
The State Education Department requires the district to hold a lottery each year to ensure access and opportunities for all children. Parents and guardians who have children who will be eligible for prekindergarten are asked to complete the Lottery Preference Form, which can be downloaded and printed and is also available at Kingsborough and Park Terrace schools and the District Registration Office. Forms should be returned to the Registrar’s office located at 234 Lincoln St., which is the lower level of the middle school building.
The GESD prekindergarten program is available to families who live in the school district and are offered at the Park Terrace and Kingsborough elementary school buildings. Prekindergarten programs are also offered through the district’s partners, Fulmont Head Start and Whispering Pines, which are housed at the McNab building. To be eligible, children must turn 4 years of age on or before Dec. 1, 2019.
The program is free and runs from 8:55 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. Morning and afternoon meals are provided at no cost.
For any questions regarding the program, please contact the district registrar at 518-775-5700, ext. 9722 or email Registrar Cindy Vose at email@example.com.
