Candidate nominating petitions are currently available to qualified residents interested in running for the Gloversville Enlarged School District Board of Education. Those interested in running can pick up a petition in the GESD Business Office on Lincoln Street (Middle School campus) on normal business days between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Three seats will be up for election this spring for full three-year terms. The seats are currently held by Robert Curtis, Kevin Kucel and Vincent Salvione. Terms begin July 1.
Nominating petitions with the signatures of at least 100 qualified district voters must be filed with the district no later than 5 p.m. on May 1. A candidate must be a qualified voter of the district; at least 18 years old; be able to read and write; be a resident of the district for at least one year prior to the election; and be the only member of his or her household on the school board.
The election will take place during the annual school budget vote on May 21.
