GHS students to play a part in theater awards at Proctors

Gloversvlle high school students performing in Little Shop of Horrors on stageGloversville High School student Olivia Hanifan has been nominated for Best Actress for her role of Audrey in the recent GHS production of “Little Shop of Horrors.”

She, along with fellow GHS student performer Ashley Barksdale, will perform at the third annual High School Musical Theater Awards on May 11 at Proctors Theatre in Schenectady.

In addition, GHS student Andre Storto has been selected by the School of Performing Arts at Proctors to be the student reporter for the evening.

The School of Performing Arts at Proctors sponsors the awards for New York’s Capital Region in partnership with The Broadway League. Fashioned after Broadway’s Tony Awards, this ceremony will celebrate the achievements of the region’s theater students, highlighting the importance of arts and theater education.
