Letter from Principal DiPasquale regarding Park Terrrace lockout

Today, Tuesday, Jan. 29, the Park Terrace Elementary School called for a lockout at 11:46 a.m. This was done at the request of our school resource officer. The lockout was in response to an alleged incident in Myers Park. The Gloversville Police Department came to investigate and found no issues in the park or around the school. The lockout was ended at 12:06 p.m.

In a lockout, the school continues to follow a normal schedule.  Classes, lunch, recess, and all school activities are uninterrupted. The doors remain locked, and no one is allowed to enter or leave the building.

The safety of children and staff are my highest priority.  At no point today was the safety of the children or staff at risk. I want to thank the Gloversville Police Department and our school resource officer, Officer Reu, for their immediate response. If you have any questions, please contact the main office or see me.
