PTECH students develop mindfulness lesson for Park Terrace students

Foothills PTECH Academy of Health and Medical Sciences students visited first and second grade classes at Park Terrace Elementary School in November to present a mindfulness activity and share an e-book they had created specifically for each class.

The presentation followed outreach the PTECH students began in October as part of their self-developed year-long mindfulness study. This included meeting with and interviewing the elementary students to determine their interests.

The PTECH students then created materials and a lesson designed to engage the younger students based on their interests and social-emotional concerns. The lesson featured breathing exercises, yoga poses and meditation.
