Recent GHS graduate receives national recognition for artwork

image of artwork award winning cyber safety posterMichelle Millet, a 2018 Gloversville High School graduate, has been recognized for her artwork in a national poster design contest. The artwork was produced as an assignment in teacher Kari Laubscher’s Advertising Design class. The purpose of the artwork was to spread awareness about online safety.

The poster was submitted to the New York State Office of Information Technology Services, Enterprise Information Security Office (ITS EISO), which along with the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC), conducted a kindergarten through grade 12 contest in October 2017.

Millet was one of twelve state winners who were selected to have their posters submitted to the national contest. She is one of four winners in her age group, grades 9-12, selected to be featured in a nationally distributed Cybersecurity Calendar being produced by the Multi-State Information Sharing & Analysis Center® (MS-ISA). In addition, those with winning entries will be sent calendars and educational materials to promote cyber-security within their school districts.
