Superintendent letter regarding incident at McNab school

An arrest of a local man was made this morning after refusing to leave Gloversville School District property. The individual previously had his access to school property and buildings revoked for making threats towards district staff. This morning at 7:50 a.m., the individual came on school property at McNab Elementary School, in violation of the prior directives issued by
the district. The individual was asked to leave multiple times by the district Resource Officer and refused. Upon being advised that he would be arrested, the individual attempted to flee. He was detained and an arrest was made.

Throughout this brief incident, the district took appropriate care of the safety of students by our staff to remove as many students from the area as possible. The safety of district students and staff is our utmost priority and we commend the Gloversville Police Department and BOCES staff for its prompt and professional response to this incident. Should any parent have any
questions with respect to this issue, please contact the district directly.

Sincerely,
David Halloran
Superintendent of Schools
