The scholars at Kingsborough Elementary School celebrated Black History Month by participating in a school-wide quilt project that showcased important African-Americans throughout our history in the United States. Scholars listened to stories about those influential people, were able to learn about other’s experiences, and truly connect with the past. It was a wonderful experience for everyone!

Kingsborough's second grader scholars have a new library incentive this year! The scholar that reads their library book and returns it and tells Mrs. Ferrante what their book was about, can get another book before their library day. The second grade scholar that reads the most books in the month can earn the ROCKING READER award along with a book! Their picture will go on the Rocking Reader bulletin board for all to see. Happy reading and I can't wait to hear about all your wonderful reading adventures! Congratulations to Ellieana, our first recipient. Her love of reading inspired this award!

This is a reminder that December 6th will be a half day for our elementary scholars!
