The Gloversville vs. Johnstown Teachers Basketball Game returns Saturday, January 10 at 5 PM at Gloversville High School.
🎟️ Admission: Adults $5 | Scholars $2
💥 Shooting Contest ($5) + 50/50 Raffle
All proceeds split between the Gloversville & Johnstown Lady Basketball Clubs.

🌦️✨ Exciting Weather Visit at Kingsborough! ✨🌦️
Our second graders had a special visit from Meteorologist Jordan Due from WTEN Channel 10 this week to celebrate their CKLA Cycles in Nature unit! Jordan taught our young scholars about different types of weather and how it forms, what it’s like to be a meteorologist both on and off TV, and even showed us how the Storm Tracker works with all its tools.
The fun didn’t stop there — we had weather dances, played weather Pictionary, and learned so much while having a blast! Thank you to Jordan and the WTEN crew for coming by and showing our scholars the ropes of being meteorologists. ☀️🌧️

Each year, as part of this annual GHS tradition, our seniors bring the magic of the season to life. They visited all 5 of our schools — and a few other treasured community spots — to drop off brand-new books for our scholars, sing Christmas carols, and spread holiday cheer across our community!
A huge thank you to:
The Cubby Faville Memorial Fund for making it possible for our seniors to deliver books to all students Pre-K through 5
The Berkshire Fire Department for hosting lunch and Bingo
Kelly DeMaio, Jacob Perron, and Stephanie Boger for their incredible help making The Santa Project a success
Rainbow Play School, the Gloversville Police and Fire Departments, and City Hall for welcoming our holiday cheer
Everyone in the GESD community who helps make this event possible every year!

🎄 Kingsborough Giving Tree 🎄
What started as a simple idea has quickly become something special at Kingsborough. After discovering a supply of handmade, knitted wool hats, Principal Martin saw an opportunity to spread warmth and kindness during these cold upstate winter days — and the Kingsborough Giving Tree was born.
Our young scholars are invited to choose a hat to help keep them warm, and the response has been incredible. Since launching on Friday, the tree has already been refilled three times, a moment that shows how even small acts can make a big difference for our scholars.
A simple gesture, a big impact — keeping our scholars warm and supported this winter ❄️🧤

🎄 Community Holiday Event – Free Haircuts for K–12 Scholars ✂️
This holiday season, Adirondack Barbershop, a local business committed to giving back, is helping support our community by offering FREE haircuts for K–12 scholars on Sunday, December 21, from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
🍩 Free food, donuts, and cookies will be available
✂️ Haircuts are walk-in only
🕑 Sign-in cutoff is 2:00 p.m.

We stopped by Santa’s Workshop (the Park Terrace basement) this afternoon to take a quick peek at our now-annual Christmas Giveaway, put together by our Community Educator Lashawn Hawkins and Jen Hazzard. Thanks to them—and all the volunteers and adopters who stepped up—over 400 local children will have a Christmas this year.
