Update

Fall 2022 Gloversville Middle/High School Traffic Protocols

The following traffic protocols have been created to assist parents/guardians navigate the new traffic pattern and designated drop off/pick up areas on the Gloversville High School/Middle School campus.  The new designs are intended to provide safe curbside locations for our students to exit and enter vehicles.

Please note that between 7:30 am and 8:00 am, High School drop locations are dependent upon which route one takes to the campus.  Those coming from Lincoln street from the city MUST use the HS student drop off location east of the building, while those arriving from 29A MUST use the drop off area in front of the HS main entrance.  This expectation is for safety and functionality purposes.  They are further explained below.

Scenario 1:

When driving up Lincoln Street from the city with only HS student(s) to drop off with intent to return to city of Gloversville;

Use the first entrance to the high school student parking lot (east side of HS), and then make an immediate right into the HS student drop off loop.  Stay in the loop all the way until it turns to the left by the HS building.  (Drop off students here)    To exit the lot, drive back east (follow arrows) and return to Lincoln St.  Turn right and exit campus down Lincoln St. back into the city of Gloversville.

Note: Construction on the student lot/drop off loop is not yet complete, so there is a fence separating the unfinished portion from the temporary drop off loop.  *** Although not complete, this is still the best/safest/quickest option for dropping off HS students if coming from, and returning to, the city via Lincoln St.

Scenario 2:

When driving up Lincoln Street from the city with HS student(s) and MS student(s) to drop off;

Follow the same directions as above, except when returning to Lincoln Street from HS student drop off, turn left and continue west on Lincoln Street past the front of the high school and follow signs to the west side of Gloversville Middle School to drop off middle school student(s).   If planning to return to Gloversville via  Lincoln St, drivers should head back the way they came on Lincoln St. and keep left around the front of the HS to avoid congestion.  Exit campus back into the city via Lincoln St. (east)

Note: To avoid congestion, exiting campus via Lincoln Street (west) to Rt 29A or, using Spring Street to exit campus may be better options, than returning to Lincoln St. (east).

Scenario 3:

When driving up Lincoln Street from the city with only MS student(s) to drop off;

Continue West on Lincoln Street past GHS (Stay right)  After passing the HS, continue west to the designated drop off area for the MS.  After MS student(s) drop off, exit campus via Lincoln St. (East), Spring St or Lincoln St. (West) to Route 29A.

Scenario 4:

When entering campus from Route 29A (West Fulton St.) with only HS students to drop off.

Turn Left at the top of the hill at the bottom of the large MS parking lot.(prior to GMS) and follow Lincoln Street east around the north side of Gloversville Middle School.  When you reach the front of the high school, stay right and drop off HS student(s) curbside directly in front of the high school main entrance.  After dropping off HS student(s), return to Lincoln St and either turn right to exit campus by entering the city via Lincoln St. (East) or turn left and return to Route 29A entrance by taking the same route you came in on Lincoln St. (West).

Scenario 5:

When entering campus from Route 29A (West Fulton St.) with HS and MS students to drop off.

Drop off MS students in front of GMS, and continue back to Lincoln St, then follow directions from scenario 4.

Scenario 6:

When entering campus from Route 29A (West Fulton St.) with only MS student(s) to drop off.

Drop off MS student(s) in front of GMS.  Return to Lincoln St.  and exit campus via 29A  (the way you came), Spring St, or Lincoln Street East.
