On Thursday, June 1, 2023, GHS will be administering the U.S. History and Government Regents. This assessment is one of the NYS graduation requirements with the examination date being set by the state. To ensure that we can meet the needs of the scholars taking this exam, we will not hold traditional classes on June 1. Only those scholars that are taking the U.S History and Government Regents will report to school on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Teachers and school counselors will communicate with those scholars that are required to sit for this exam. Transportation and food services will run as normal. Additionally, virtual regents review sessions will be offered for scholars not participating in the abovementioned examination on June 1. Teachers will communicate the times of these virtual sessions directly to scholars. This information pertains only to GHS scholars. Please contact the office if you have any questions,

The City of Gloversville Police Department will be participating in the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee 2023 “No Empty Chair” campaign this week.

The City of Gloversville Police Department will be participating in the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee 2023 “No Empty Chair” campaign this week. Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death and serious injury for people ages 16-20, and as the spring weather arrives, high school students across the area will be joining their friends to travel. The campaign promotes specific enforcement for each day of the week. The area of enforcement for each day is as follows: Monday, 04/24/23- Speeding in School Zones. Tuesday, 04/25/23- Seat belt and child restraints. Wednesday, 04/26/23- Cell Phone use and Texting. Thursday, 04/27/23- Operation Safe Stop, which involves motor vehicles passing stopped school buses. Friday, 04/28/23- Underage Drinking and Impaired Driving. The City of Gloversville Police Department has partnered with the Gloversville Enlarged School District to promote safe motor vehicle operation by their scholars. Specifically, the Gloversville Enlarged School District has promoted the Police Department’s participation in the event by advertising it on their digital billboards on district properties, and by permitting posters to be prominently displayed in the High School. Motor vehicle operators should expect an increased Police presence in and around school zones for the duration of the campaign.
