
On Thursday, June 1, 2023, GHS will be administering the U.S. History and Government Regents. This assessment is one of the NYS graduation requirements with the examination date being set by the state.
To ensure that we can meet the needs of the scholars taking this exam, we will not hold traditional classes on June 1. Only those scholars that are taking the U.S History and Government Regents will report to school on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Teachers and school counselors will communicate with those scholars that are required to sit for this exam. Transportation and food services will run as normal.
Additionally, virtual regents review sessions will be offered for scholars not participating in the abovementioned examination on June 1. Teachers will communicate the times of these virtual sessions directly to scholars.

Scholars took a field trip to the Gloversville-Johnstown wastewater treatment plant, and the Gloversville water works. Scholars had a chance to see where our wastewater goes and drinking water comes from. Looks like they had a great time!

Little Huskies Summer Flag Football!


Yesterday, Bailey Pierce, Isabella Lomanto, Jorja Perron, and Jenna Krawczeski spent the day giving back to our community by picking up trash off of the beautiful Rail Trail in Gloversville. Thank you scholars for being an excellent example!


Congratulations to Sarah Dworman and Amelia Baldwin for representing Scitamard Drama Club’s production of “Xanadu” at the HS Musical Theatre Awards at Proctors on May 13. They have been stars in GHS’s drama program since 6th grade, and are excited for their future successes.




The Budget Vote & School Board Elections will be held today from 11am-8pm at the GHS gymnasium and at Bleecker Town Hall.

GHS Junior Scholars had the opportunity this morning to meet with college representatives right in the GHS cafeteria! The College Caravan is sponsored by the Capital District Counseling Association. Students visited numerous prospective colleges and even got some souvenirs.











ELA Teacher, Ms. Alam, is elated to announce that three GHS students have won The Great Adirondack Young People's Poetry Contest, which is sponsored by The Lake Placid Institute of the Arts. The students are Sarah Dworman, grade 12, Aedin Durant, grade 9, and Gracie Moore, grade 9.

The winners now have their poetry included in the publication Words from the Woods.

GHS staff would like to give a shout-out to Cravings Bakery & Cafe for their generosity and thoughtfulness. Today they delivered their delicious cupcakes for teacher appreciation day. The staff LOVED them.






A huge shout out to our scholars in the 5th-grade Kindness Club who made 330 Individual craft kits to donate to the Ronald Mcdonald House.

Community GESD Clothing Give Back!


Lukas Oathout has committed to continuing his swimming career at SUNY Oneonta this fall. The Sea Dragon family is beyond proud of him! Congratulations Lukas!


The City of Gloversville Police Department will be participating in the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee 2023 “No Empty Chair” campaign this week.


The Gloversville Dugout Club is hosting a Stand Up To Cancer Night tonight vs Broadalbin-Perth at 7:00 pm.
Cards will be sold for $5 prior to the start of tonight’s game.
All money that is raised will be donated to the American Cancer Society from our Hits4Hope Program.
