CarbonTek USA came and presented to our automotive and science scholars last Friday. CarbonTek's service removes harmful carbon build-up from within an engine. This presentation exposed our students to cutting-edge green technology, and science, as well as a career pathway. The CarbonTek USA system uses electrolysis to create Oxy-hydrogen gas which is fed into the engine via the air intake while the engine is idle. The CarbonTek Oxy-hydrogen gas reacts with the carbon deposit. This reaction causes carbon to chemically transform into the gaseous state of hydrocarbon (HC), which is then emitted out through the exhaust system.

Check out our 4th-grade scholars in Ms. Thomas's class! They examined plate tectonics and the structure of the earth by dissecting hard-boiled eggs. Looks like they had a blast!

4th grade class in case you wanted them for social media. We examined plate tectonics and the structure of the earth through dissecting hard boiled eggs. First we decorated our "Earth" Then we created cracks to represent plate tectonics. Next we took a look at the mantle-or egg white. And finally we looked at the core, the solid egg yolk. We had a blast!

The City of Gloversville Police Department will be participating in the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee 2023 “No Empty Chair” campaign this week. Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death and serious injury for people ages 16-20, and as the spring weather arrives, high school students across the area will be joining their friends to travel. The campaign promotes specific enforcement for each day of the week. The area of enforcement for each day is as follows: Monday, 04/24/23- Speeding in School Zones. Tuesday, 04/25/23- Seat belt and child restraints. Wednesday, 04/26/23- Cell Phone use and Texting. Thursday, 04/27/23- Operation Safe Stop, which involves motor vehicles passing stopped school buses. Friday, 04/28/23- Underage Drinking and Impaired Driving. The City of Gloversville Police Department has partnered with the Gloversville Enlarged School District to promote safe motor vehicle operation by their scholars. Specifically, the Gloversville Enlarged School District has promoted the Police Department’s participation in the event by advertising it on their digital billboards on district properties, and by permitting posters to be prominently displayed in the High School. Motor vehicle operators should expect an increased Police presence in and around school zones for the duration of the campaign.
